[Class 135] A device for the, temporary replacement of the closure head, i.e. the spindle, gland and jumper, of a stop-cock of the kind normally located below ground level in a water service pipe on the inadvertent removal of said head, comprises a screw-threaded spindle a, Fig. 1, carrying a fluted conical plug b which permits continuous flow of water through the service pipe, and a rubber bush f adapted to enter the gland opening o of the body d and be axially compressed between the plug and a washer g by a nut h to seal the opening o. The faces of the nut are provided with recesses m, one of which may be engaged with a spring-pressed detent on the end of the usual turn-key i. Specification 623,057 is referred to.
