Abstract
663,048. Plug taps or cocks. JACKSON BOILERS, Ltd., and MUSTILL, C. W. April 1, 1948. No. 9179/48. Class 135 A plug tap or cork has a removable sleeve or bushing E of hard wearing material or metal interposed between the tap body A and the plug I, and prevented from rotating by a lug F. Fig. 1 engaging a recess in the top of the tap body or by a screw H, Fig. 2, engaging a recess in the sleeve E. The sleeve E, which has ports N is also held in position by a nut G engaging the threaded lower end of the sleeve. The rotation of the plug is limited by a pin L operating in a cut away portion of the tap body. The tap may have an axial outlet C, Fig. 1, in the plug or an outlet P formed on the tap body and provided with a detachable nozzle Q. The plug may be removed by detaching a nut J. The passages O, B may be cleaned without removing the plug, by unscrewing a plug R<SP>1</SP>. In Fig. 1, the plug R has a projection R<SP>1</SP> which serves as an additional means to prevent rotation of the sleeve E.
