Abstract

382,991. Water taps. MEYNELL & SONS, Ltd. and MEYNELL, W. C. E., Montrose Street, Wolverhampton. Sept. 11, 1931, No. 25499. [Class 135.] In a screw-down water tap of the kind in which the stuffing box C and gland H are protected from dust by a substantially cylindrical sheath F which extends into a recess formed in the handle D but is independent of the handle, the lower end of the sheath F is secured in position by screwing it to the stuffing box C until it presses down on the top body A. The handle D is non-rotatably mounted on the valve spindle B. The sheath F extends into the handle D in all positions of the spindle B. Inwardly projecting lugs G are engaged by a key to remove the sheath F after the handle D has been removed by unscrewing the set-screw E. Specification 242,868, [Class 135, Valves &c.], is referred to.
