Abstract

472,061. Taps. BATTEN, H. J. April 4, 1936, No. 9984. [Class 135] The ordinary valve member of a water tap is replaced by a cylindrical valve unit secured between the crown 6 of the tap and the usual seating 2. The lower end N of the valve unit projects into the inlet or well of the tap and serves as a seating for a valve L, opening against and closing with the water pressure, which is carried by a spindle A on which a spring J acts to assist the closing of the valve. The opening of the valve is effected by the screwed tap spindle 3 engaging the top of the valve spindle A.
