461,301. Valves. GUMMERS, Ltd., and GUMMER, L. W. Dec. 5, 1935, No. 33765. [Class 135] A self-closing tap or valve comprises a valve member 9 operated to open by depressing the cover 28 secured to the spindle 6 and closed by the spring 31 under control of a dashpot piston 16 working in a cylinder provided with a regulating valve 21. The cover 28 is arranged to conceal the adjustable outer end of the valve 21 which is arranged parallel to the valve axis. The valve and dashpot piston may be arranged eccentric to the valve casing to facilitate the accommodation of the regulating valve.
