Abstract
341,191. Valve accessories. BAUME, J. F., Kingston Brass Works, Gibraltar Road, Halifax, Yorkshire. Jan. 28, 1930, No. 35143/29. [Class 135.] Protecting covers.-In a shielded domestic water tap, the shield F, surrounding the stuffing-box K and the valve spindle C, is held in position against a shoulder L of the valve body G by resilient means, such as the enclosed spring M, disposed within the handle AJ. The upper end of the shield projects into a recess formed by the depending sleeve J and contacts the spring M so that the shield is held in position against rotation during the operation of the valve spindle. The shield can be readily removed after removing the nut D which secures the handle A on the end of the spindle C.
