620,276. Bench lathes. MYFORD ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and BARRS, E. Jan. 14, 1947, No. 1298. [Class 83 (iii)] A wood-turning lathe or the like comprises in combination a headstock A, a tubular bed B, a saddle C and tailstock D slidingly mounted on the bed, clamping bolts E associated with the saddle and tailstock and clamping blocks M on the bolts held in engagement with the inner surface of the bed by nuts J on the bolts. These nuts are tightened or released by means of a lever K passing through a second longitudinal slot L in the bed. The saddle may support a tool rest M or a compound slide rest. The bed projects through the headstock to form a support for a tool rest P which is used for turning work of larger diameter.
