Boring - bars. - A boring-bar for taper work consists of a bar a slotted at b to receive a frame c which carries the feed-screw and tool-head; the frame is pivoted at one end j to the bar and is adjusted at its other end to vary the taper by a screw bolt m, bolts n securing the frame in any adjustable position. Keys 2 and x are provided for causing the feed, and star wheelsmay be placed on these keys for automatic feeding.
