Abstract

843,231. Copying - lathes. HEYLIGENSTAEDT & COMP., WERKZEUGMASCHINENFABRIK G.m.b.H. March 21, 1958 [March 22, 1957], No. 9215/58. Class 83 (3). A copying-lathe &c. for simultaneously turning both sides of a large disc, comprises a ring 1, Fig. 2, for supporting the disc 4, and ball races 2, 3 for rotatably mounting the ring in a casing 8. The casing is of substantially rectangular form in front view, with a width corresponding approximately to the ball races supporting the ring 1. A reinforcing casing 16-18 extends from the rear and top walls of the spindle casing, and diverges to a rear part greater in width than the spindle casing. A bed plate 29 has guideways 36, 37, for longitudinal carriages, one for each side of the work. Cross slides 38, 39, Fig. 2, on these carriages carry copy tool-holders 40 of known type, supplied with oil pressure through flexible pipes 47, Fig. 3. Tracers 43 move over templates 44 on the bed to control the form cutting of tools 41.
