618,544. Image frequency suppression. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. Sept. 13, 1946, No. 27540. Convention date, Dec. 7, 1942. [Class 40 (viii)] In a superheterodyne receiver, in order to prevent the introduction of image frequency signals over the parasitic capacity 5 between the aerial coupling coil 1 and the tuned input circuit 2, 3, a neutralizing condenser 6 is inductively coupled to the coil 2 through the coil 7. In order to compensate for the small amount of image frequency voltage introduced directly through coils 1, 2, slight over- or underneutralizing may be employed according to the polarity of the mutual inductance between the coils 1, 2.
