Abstract

618,398. Inductances. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and DALE, S. H. Nov. 4, 1946, No. 32655. [Class 38 (ii)] A polyphase variable inductance comprises two legged magnetic cores 1-6, in number double that of the phases, each with its own A.C. winding 7-12, but having a common D.C. winding 13, the A.C. windings being connected in pairs and so that the fundamental frequency is not fed into the D.C. circuit. The inner leg of each core may be of greater crosssection than the outer which carries the A.C. winding, and may be shaped so that' the cores fit compactly, Fig. 4 (not shown).
