Abstract

844,530. Coaxial resonators. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGY ATOMIQUE. March 18, 1957 [March 16, 1956], No. 8840/57. Class 40(8). [Also in Groups XXXV, XL(a) and XL(c)] Coaxial line resonators 31, 32 in which ferrite rings 33 fill the spaces between the conductors are used as variable inductances in the R.F. circuit of a frequency modulated particle accelerator (see Group XL(a)). Annular air spaces may be provided between the ferrite rings and the outer conductors to provide a suitable characteristic impedance and phase velocity. A polarization winding connected to terminals 37 is contained within the inner conductors 29, 30.
