[Class 38 (ii)] [Also in Group XL] In radiogoniometers comprising relatively rotatable coils, magnetic cores, preferably of finely divided insulated particles, are used. The rotor winding is arranged on a circular core 3, and the stator windings 6, 7 are arranged either on isolated polepieces or on U-shaped members 1, 2, Figs. 1 and 3, providing closed magnetic circuits or on a one-piece stator core as shown in Fig. 4. The rotor may be arranged eccentric with respect to the pole faces to provide a sinusoidal variation of rotor-stator mutual inductance, and adjustable parts may be associated with the polepieces to enable the air gap to be varied. The rotor winding may be connected with the output circuit through slip rings'or may be inductively coupled through a pair of relatively rotatable coaxial windings 14, 15, Fig. 7.
