617,053. Vices. F.I.S.P.A. FABBRICA ITALIANA SPECIALITA PARTI AUTO, SOC. IN ACCOMANDITA SEMPLICE DI M. LIBERO & CO. Sept. 27, 1946, No. 28986. Convention date, Dec. 20, 1944. [Class 61 (ii)] A vice with rapid adjustment of the sliding jaw by rotatable quick pitch screw and final tightening by eccentric lever, comprises a screw 12 engaging a nut 13 in the fixed jaw 2 and having a frustrum head 11 engaging within the correspondingly formed end of a slotted bush 6 and an eccentric lever 18 mounted on a pivot 17 in the sliding jaw 1 and contacting abutment blocks 15, 16 in the ends of the bush, two pivots 14 on the sliding jaw 1 engaging behind the frustrum end 11. Forward pressure on the handle 19 of the eccentric lever 18 moves the jaw 1 up to the work, whereupon rotational movement of the eccentric causes the screw head 11 to bind in the end of the displaced bush 6 and then on further movement effects small gripping movement of the jaw.
