Abstract
616,120. Plate heat exchangers. ROVER CO., Ltd., and BELL, F. R. Aug. 28, 1946, No. 25768. [Class 64(iii)] Heat exchange apparatus comprises an assembly of thin metal sheets a and b at least the alternate sheets b being corrugated to provide on either side of each such sheet two sets of parallel longitudinal flow passages c and d and each corrugated sheet being shaped near its ends to provide lateral passages f communicating with one of the associated sets of longitudinal passages d. At the ends of the matrix, the passages c are open and the passages dare closed. The lateral passages f are formed by indentations e in the corrugations near each end of the matrix and openings h in spacing strips g at one side of the matrix.
