Abstract
715,491. Heat-exchangers. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Dec. 19, 1952 [Dec. 19, 19511, No. 29724/51. Class 64(3) Relates to plate heatexchangers in which a header 3 is secured to a face of a matrix 1 of spaced plates, and in which a partition is provided in the header to induce multipass flow through the matrix, the partition being adapted to permit limited flexure of the central area of the tank relative to the matrix face. According to the invention the partition includes a telescopic joint. As shown, the partition comprises two parts 6, 7 and the telescopic joint is formed by providing a channel in the lower edge of the upper part 6 in which is received the turned-over upper edge of the lower part 7 of the partition.
