Class 64(3) Groups of crescent shaped fins project from the fluid passage walls of a plate heat exchanger, as shown in Fig. 1, the fins extending in the general direction of fluid flow over the wall surface. In a exchanger described, cross - flow heat the fins 7, Fig. 3, on one side of a wall are of less height than the fins 1 on the other side of the wall and the fins 7 alternate with continuous fins 8 which are of lesser height than the fins 7.
