615,981. Hose couplings. GREENE, A. C. R. March 14, 1946, No. 8002. [Class 99 (i)] A hose end fitting comprises a thimble 2 which fits over the hose 8 and has an internal tapped flange 4 at its outer end, and a nipple 1 which has a tapered nose 5 and screws into the thimble and the hose to compress the hose end within the thimble, the inner wall of which has annular projections 15. The outer end of the nipple has a conical seat 10 and coupling nut 11 for securing to a pipe coupling member or other fitting. Several other forms of nipple are described adapted for connection to various fittings.
