612,744. Pistons. GRESHAM & CRAVEN, Ltd., and MARSH, G. C. May 31, 1946, No. 16579. [Class 122 (i)] In a vacuum brake cylinder and piston construction, the piston head b is provided with a plain hole to receive and locate the piston-rod h, which has a plain cylindrical portion between a screwed end e and a collar c which comes beneath the piston head. A securing nut f which engages the screwed end e is locked by a cap g removably attached to the piston head so that the rod is securely fixed to the piston, but can be detached without dismantling the cylinder.
