Abstract

1,128,622. Pistons. HUMBER Ltd., and A. STEVENS. 11 Feb., 1966 [2 Dec., 1964], No. 49074/64. Heading F2T. A piston 11 and connecting rod 10 are interconnected by a resiliently flexible strut 12 which is rigidly connected at one end to the piston and at the other end to the rod. The strut may be of spring steel and as shown in Fig. 2 has a perforated foot 14 at one end cast into the piston and a foot 15 at the other end clamped in a groove 16 in the connecting rod by a screw 17. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the strut is cast into both the piston and connecting rod.
