539,807. Compressed-air engine pistons. SOC. D'INVENTIONS AERONAUTIQUES ET MECANIQUES S.LA.M. March 21, 1940, No. 5331. Convention date, April 27, 1939. [Class 122 (v)] A quick operation of remote control apparatus operated by compressed air is secured by a piston 4 working freely in the cylinder 1 but sealed at the end of the stroke by the engagement of the rib 9 with a fixed packing ring 11, relative fluid tightness of the piston in the cylinder being secured by grooves 7 in the piston. In a modification the piston rod is sealed prior to the engagement of the rib 21 with the packing ring 20 by the engagement of the buffer 15 mounted on the rod 3 with the end rib 22 of the guide piece 14 mounted in the bottom of the cylinder.
