[Class 99 (ii)] A longitudinally extensible and compressible rubber or like pipe or tube comprises tubular sections 1 of fixed width and diameter and encircled by external supporting means such as rings 6 with or without metal reinforcement 9 or 10, the sections 1 being separated by intermediate inwardly or outwardly bowed bellows portions 2. Various types of metal reinforcement may be used for the sections 1. In Fig. 3, the bellows portions 41 are inwardly directed and a number of forms of interlocked metal reinforcement 43 are shown. In some cases, the parts 1 may be of helical form separated by the turns of helical bellows portions. The reinforcement may be of either metal or plastic material.
