Abstract

581,204. Hose couplings. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and TREVASKIS, H. W. Feb. 29, 1944, No. 3717. [Class 99 (i)] A hose end fitting comprises a sleeve 11, a tubular insert 4 and a sealing tube 5 of resilient material having bell-mouthed ends 15 engaging the tube 1 and a recess-in the insert, a central flange 13 on the sealing tube abutting the end of the insert and the cutaway portion of the tube where the reinforcement 3 has been bared to be clamped between the sleeve 11 and the insert. The flange may comprise a metal ring having at its inner periphery fins extending axially therefrom and embedded in the tube. The sealing tube may have its ends expanded by bell-mouthed tubular members connected by a tension spring.
