594,864. Joints for guttering. COPE & COPE, Ltd., and WHELON, E. G. July 3, 1945, No. 16884. [Class 33] A sealing device for joints or leaks in ducts such as used for gutters comprises a strip c of elastic material having its edges formed as hooks d reinforced with metal e and adapted for engagement with edges b of the duct a, a<SP>1</SP>, and to be held thereon by the tension in the strip ; a junction piece with a bowed portion j and channel-like flanges j<SP>1</SP> to receive the ends of the cut parts a, a<SP>1</SP>, may be fitted. The strip may be formed with hollow tubular ends and a length of wire passed through each, hooks being then formed on the wire ends, Fig. 3, or an endless band with similar wire attachments, Fig. 7, may replace the strip.
