789,522. Hose pipes: pipe joints. SCHAUENBURG, H. G. Dec. 30, 1955 [Dec. 30, 1954], No. 15924/57. Divided out of 789,521. Classes 99(1) and 99(2). A hollow beading 3, Fig. 1, formed at one edge of a helically-wound strip 1 of rubber or synthetic plastic contains an armouring 4 of wire or synthetic plastic and has flanges 2, 7 united by welding or adhesive to the other edge of the strip, one at least of the flanges, the flange 7 as shown, extending beneath the armouring. In Fig. 2, rings are used in place of the strip 1, each ring having at one edge a beading 16 enclosing an armouring 14 and having flanges 17 which extend beneath the armouring and are united to the plain edge of the adjoining ring.
