Abstract

The rubber bellows has two end flanges (1) and (2) with cylindrical portions (3) and (4) joined by a central convolution (5). The convolution (5) is reinforced with two or four layers of cloth (6) of nylon or similar material, which are arranged at an angle of 45 deg. to the bellows axis. The junctions of the convolution (5) with the cylindrical portions (3) and (4) are reinforced with the circular cords (7) and (8) which also serve as anchorages for some of the reinforcing cloth (6), the remaining layers extending axially into the end flanges (1) and (2). The cylindrical portions (3) and (4) are reinforced by layers of cord (9). Flat metal rings may be used instead of the cord (9).
