Abstract

611,916. Combustion chambers for directinjection engines. OLLIER, J. G. H., and GROSSHANS, G. F. Nov. 2, 1945, No. 29105. Convention date, Nov. 6, 1944. [Class 7 (iii)] A combustion chamber 3 in the piston 1 has a spheroidal-bowl shape and a circular opening 4 which is offset with respect to the chamber. The injector 5 may be offset similarly with respect to the axis of the opening 4. Inlet and exhaust valves 7, 8, Fig. 2, may be positioned in the cylinder-head opposite to the part of the piston face which does not contain the opening 4.
