611,187. Liquid and pulverulent fuel burners. WALLSEND SLIPWAY & ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and DOBBS, A. G. April 24, 1946. No. 12432. [Class 75 (i)] [Also in Group XII] In a liquid or powdered fuel furnace fitted with an air director comprising an axially movable slotted flame cone 13 unitary with a cylinder 7 surrounding the burner body 15, the burner 6 is secured to a carrier 19 adjustably supported by a bracket 20 on the front plate 12 of the air casing 4 so that the burner may be adjusted relatively to the flame cone according to the fuel burnt to cause the flame to fill the furnace opening. The air director shown is similar to that of Specification 361,779 [Group XII], and includes a vaned and slotted cone 1 and cylinder 2. The parts 7, 13 and a valve 8 regulating the flow of air to the furnace are movable axially by handles 16, 11. The cone 1 may be formed with a ring 9 to impede the air flow.
