[Class 75(i)] [Also in Group XII] An oil fired furnace is provided with an oil burner comprising an air nozzle having wide and narrower portions, which surrounds an oil nozzle and communicates with an air chamber formed as the cover for a firedoor openings or for an opening in the firedoor, a large part of the air chamber and the entire air nozzle projecting into the furnace. The air chamber 1 is fitted as a plug into the firedoor opening, the air chamber 1, a large part of which projects into the furnace, being connected with an air nozzle 2 which has peripheral contractions and expansions and which contains an oil nozzle 4 with an atomizer 5. An electrical igniter 10 is provided. The oil nozzle 4 is adjustable axially within the air nozzle 2.
