Abstract
611,086. Air-heating stoves. PETROVITCH, L. March 26. 1946. No. 9358. Convention date, March 30, 1945. [Class 64(i)] In a space heater 1 of the type having air channels 15 superposed above a hearth 7 so that the gases of combustion flow in passages 22 around the channels, which are of elongated flat crosssection, inclined to the horizontal, and staggered in said casing and open at both ends to the outside of the casing, the channels 15 are arranged with the larger dimension of their cross-section horizontal and the gas passages 22 are lamellar and of small vertical depth and communicate with each other alternatively through one medial passage 21 or two lateral passages 20. The gases of combustion are drawn off through a baffled suction chamber 25. The hearth may be connected by an auxiliary opening direct to the chimney. Modifications are described to permit the casing to be heated by gas or to provide continuous firing.
