Abstract

609.118. Adjustable seats. CHESTON, A. S., EDMONDS, E. C., CHESTON, B., and CORBER, F. H. March 6, 1946, No. 6947. [Class 52(ii)] A seat 1 is adjustably mounted on an upright support 2 by vertically spaced attachment devices 3, 4, at least one of which is situated above the level of the seat and at least one of which consists of a projecting member 5, 6 engaging an inclined or curved guide 4a, or rack 8 on a bracket secured to the support. The seat may be adjusted by manual lifting and positioned by an adjustable strut, by a pin and notch device, by a clamping bolt or by frictiongrip devices acting on pivoted stay bars or, alternatively, screw, lever, or hydraulic adjusting-mechanism may be provided. The upper connections may be pivoted links. Specification 560,404 is referred to.
