608,706. Lubricating guns. JUNIPER, A. T. Feb. 28, 1946, No. 6198. [Class 102 (i)] In a lubricating gun, oil lubricant is fed into a cylindrical body a by air pressure from an adjacent tank or reservoir through an orifice a<1>. The body a is screw-threaded at one end to receive an end mount c and a delivery nozzle e. The other end of the body is adapted to receive a gland nut h through which passes a hand-operated ram g arranged to actuate a plunger d, working within the sleeve C<1>, whereby oil lubricant is forced into the pressure chamber C<3> via a non-return valve C'. Connected to the pressure chamber C<3> is a delivery nozzle e wherefrom the oil lubricant may be ejected at a pressure, the limit of which is governed by the cross-sectional area of the plunger d. A return spring j is incorporated in the body a to return the plunger d back to its original position. The sleeve C<1> has a cut-away portion C<2> which, when the plunger d is with. drawn, permits a charge of oil to enter.
