Abstract

621,173. Grease guns. TECALEMIT, Ltd., and LE CLAIR, C. C. S. Nov. 13, 1946, No. 33727. [Class 102(i)] A grease gun comprises a container 1 in which slides a piston 5 above which grease is stored. The piston 5 has an extension 6 that forms a guide for a high-pressure cylinder 4, the lower end of which is provided with a non-return valve and a nozzle attachment for the part to be lubricated. The piston 5 is formed with projections 12...15 and has a cap formed with projections 27 which fit between the projections 12...15 and is held in position by a ring 32 engaging grooves 20 in the piston and shoulders 28 on the cap. A high-pressure piston 24 is cast in the cap and enters the cylinder 4 which has inlet ports 21. Grease is drawn into the cylinder 4 through ports 30 and 21 and discharged by applying pressure to the container; the return stroke is effected by the spring 31.
