Abstract

1316077 Grease guns GREASE APPLIANCE CO Ltd 20 March 1972 [25 March 1971] 8205/71 Heading F1A A grease gun comprises a cap 4 having a cylinder 1 and a piston 2 reciprocated by a handle 3 to draw grease from a reservoir 8 via valve 14, and to discharge the grease to a nozzle 16 via valve 16a an air-venting valve 18 communicating with cylinder 1, and the lower end of the reservoir 8 being open, so that a follower piston 12 is drawn up the reservoir by the piston suction. The grease may be contained in the reservoir or in a disposable cartridge 9 in the reservoir. Handle 3 is spring- loaded, and piston pivot pin 5 is guided in slots 7. In Fig. 3 (not shown), the nozzle is aligned with the reservoir and a side lever is connected by links to the cap. In Fig. 6 (not shown), the cap has an external valued connection for filling the reservoir.
