Abstract
696,347. Reciprocating pumps. JENETT, A. H. Oct. 29, 1951 [Nov. 2, 1950[, No. 25270/51. Class 102 (i). In apparatus for dispensing liquids, the barrel 11 forms the reservoir and is closed at one end by the nozzle head 14, which contains the cylinder 41 and outlet 22, and at the other end by a plug 13. A rod 19 passes through the barrel and carries a piston 18 having a groove 24 which permits liquid to flow into the cylinder 41 when the piston is at the end of its inner stroke. The rod 19 is secured to a finger-piece 32 which is loaded by a spring 36 and has a conical surface 33 so that when the finger-piece is screwed into the plug the surfaces contact and prevent leakage from the reservoir and also a valve 23 on the end of the rod 19 seats in the nozzle head and prevents leakage' from the outlet. The inward stroke of the piston is limited by a washer 39, adjacent an enlargement 38 on the rod 19, engaging the plug.
