Abstract

1349628 Reciprocating pumps YOSHINO KOGYOSHO CO Ltd 1 May 1972 [8 May 1971] 20093/72 Heading F1A A spraying device comprises a container 10 of liquid to be sprayed, a spray head 20 rotatable relative to the container to cause a suction stroke of pumping means 32, the discharge stroke being effected by a spring 35, and a spray nozzle 25 which is depressed to open a discharge valve 26. Rotation of head 20 is converted into linear movement of piston 32 by balls 40 engaging inclined grooves (41) in member 37, vertical grooves 401 connecting the inclined grooves to permit the return movement by spring 35, Fig. 3 (not shown). Liquid is drawn from chamber 13 via inlet valve 15 into chamber 14, and is discharged through piston 32 and flexible pipe 34 to valve 26. A vent valve 101 permits entry of air into chamber 13. A replaceable liquid container may be screwed on to the casing of the device in place of chamber 13, Fig. 4 (not shown). A guide sleeve (91), acting as an abutment for spring 35, may be secured by a threaded ring (92), Fig. 5 (not shown). In Fig. 6 (not shown), the piston is fixed and located within spring 35, and a cylinder (115) is reciprocated relative to the piston. In Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown), the ball and groove actuating mechanism is replaced by offset portions (66) engaging inclined ramps (61), pumping being effected by a bellows (72) connected by dip tubes to a plurality of replaceable liquid containers (76) to discharge a mixture of liquids.
