Abstract
The rim of a turbine rotor is formed from a different material from the web and hub to which it is attached by fusing. A suitable alloy for the rim contains cobalt 49 per cent, nickel 20 per cent, chromium 25 per cent, tungsten carbide 5 per cent, and silicon 1 per cent and an alloy for the web and hub comprises iron with the following percentages of other elements carbon 0.34 per cent, manganese 0.71 per cent, silicon 0.25 per cent, nickel 1.74 per cent, chromium 0.76 per cent, molybdenum 0.44 per cent and vanadium 0.06 per cent.
