Abstract
618,037. Elastic-fluid turbines. UNITED SPECIALITIES CO. Oct. 16, 1946, No. 30810. Convention date, Jan. 25. [Class 110 (iii)] Turbine blades, Fig. 7, are fashioned from tubular or sheet stock. In the latter case, the material is overlapped and welded down the middle of the concave part. The side tongues 3 embrace the outer portion of a ring 11, Fig. 11, and are gripped on to the ring by the inturned flanges 16 of discs 15, 17. In addition, rings or coiled wire engage the tongues and the latter are clinched around the rings. The ring 11 may be pierced with a number of radial holes by which air, entering the rotor through holes 19, is passed to the hollow blades.
