Axial - flow type.- The radially outer portions of long turbine blades are supplied with steam from a blade-ring or rings in advance of the next preceding ring. The last ring of blades 11 receives steam guided from the next preceding blade-ring B by nozzles B<1> and also steam guided from the ring A by by-passing nozzles A<1>. This arrangement permits the use of rotor wheels of uniform diameter throughout a turbine stage.
