Abstract
123,737. Akt.-Ges. Brown, Boveri, et Cie. Feb. 18, 1918, [Convention date]. Blades &c.-By a simple upsetting operation, a turbine blade is provided with a T-shaped foot, Figs. 1, 2, and 3, having its width a at any point bearing a constant ratio to the corresponding thickness b of the blade at that point. The lower shank portion of the blade may also be thickened on both sides or on the convex side only, the ratio of the width of the thickened portion at any point to the original thickness of the blade at that point being approximately constant. Figs. 7 and 8 show this thickening of the shank increasing outwards from the foot, together with spacing members.
