Class 110(iii) A connecting element for expansibly interconnectec members of turbines or compressors comprises at least one expansion ring 4 having enlarged bulbs 5, ( at one or both ends, sealec as by a rolling operatior in grooves formed in the interconnected members 2. 7. The whole of the bulb is cut away at one or more points and replaced by locking bodies 10 which may be welded to or formed integrally with the members 2, 7. The member 2 carries the blades 1 and may be integral with the expansion ring. The member 7 is secured by a caulking wire 8 to the disc 3. The locking members may be threaded or serrated and made of a harder material and with a larger cross-sectional area than that of the bulbs.
