Abstract

414,531. Turbine blades. AKT.-GES., BROWN, BOVERI, ET CIE, Baden, Switzerland. Sept. 4, 1933, No. 24458. Convention date, Sept. 9, 1932. [Class 110 (iii).] Turbine blades are secured to the rotor, both mechanically and by welding, the two connections being independent of one another and the welding points being freely accessible. A small number of blades may be united together by shrouding or by welding the blade bases. Individual blades, Fig. 2, are mechanically secured by transverse rivets 6 and are welded to the rotor at the side areas 4, 5. Fig. 5 shows a wheel with a double row of blades which are welded to the rotor at the areas 4, 5 and are mechanically secured by riveting over the end 18 of a pin 17 extending from the blade roots 16. Specifications 18822/04 and 23904/04, [both in Class 110], are referred to.
