Blades.-In a gas turbine, in order to facilitate conduction of heat from the blades to the bladesupporting members, the rotor blades 2, and the stator blades 3 are of trapezium form in crosssection. The serrated fixing roots 4, 5 are also of trapezium form, the greatest width being at the boundary between the blade and the foot.
