607,050. Draught excluders. KEEN. D. S. J. Jan. 24, 1946, No. 2324. [Class 20(iii)] In a draught excluder as set forth in Specification 577,715 the spring expansible member is an arm connected only to the sealing strip, and is conveniently formed of strip spring steel. As shown, the strip 2 is situated in the central longitudinal depression in the base member 1, and pivots by means of the lugs 3 at each end engaging in slots 4 in the side plates 6. The spring member 11 is pivotally connected to the lugs 9 on the strip and is bent to form the abutment member 13 and a free end 14 which slides in a slot 15 in the base member. When the door closes it moves the abutment member and thus causes the strip to pivot to its operative position (as shown), and on opening it forces the strip downwards and returns the spring to its former position. The base 1, and side members 6, are reversible for fitting to right or left hand doors, and the apparatus may also be adapted for inwardly or outwardly opening doors.
