606,989. Drying coal. COLLINS, J. N., and BIRD, W. K. Jan. 23, 1946, No. 2177. [Class 34(ii)] Coal fed into a hopper 8 is carried by a stream of heated air into a cyclone separator 9 and is afterwards cooled in chamber 11 by a cooling air current induced by pipe 12 associated with venturi section 10a and air inlets 11b. Dry coal is discharged at 11a.
