[Class 99 (i)] In a joint for earthenware or concrete pipes, a sleeve 1 having a conical bore surrounds the abutting ends of the pipes, the recess 2 being filled with mortar or other jointing material. The small end of the bore is slightly less in diameter than the pipes, and the sleeve rests against a shoulder 5 formed by the reduced end 6 of the pipe 3, the reduced end being about half the length of the sleeve.
