Abstract
603,309. Transformers. PATELHOLD PATENT VERWERTUNGS- & ELECTROHOLDING AKT.-GES. Oct. 12, 1945, No. 26696. Convention date, Oct. 12, 1944. [Class 38 (ii)] In iron powder magnetic cores suitable for audio and high-frequency apparatus parts of higher flux density are given higher permeability. Such parts are preferably of simpler shape than the others on account of lower mechanical strength. These parts of higher permeability may be made from a mixture of the same materials as the others but with a greater proportion of iron powder by weight and subjected to a higher compression in manufacture. In the Figure, the part 1 of the dust core which is surrounded by the coil 3 carries a higher flux density than the remaining part 2 of the core and is of material having a higher permeability. To allow of adjustment of inductance the core part 1 is axially movable by means of the screw thread 4 which is preferably formed in artificial resin glued or pressed on to the core. The permeability of core part 1 may vary along its length. In a modification the part 1 is immovably held in the core part 2 which is split into two similar halves held together by an artificial resin or sheet metal casing and supported on a rubber or felt pad. The part 1 may. be interchangeable with other similar parts of different permeability. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 the invention might be applied to a generator or motor, the poles having a greater permeability than other magnetic parts. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
