Abstract
602,128. Liquid and gaseous fuel burners. PAYNTER, T. H. Oct. 12, 1945, No. 26751. [Class 75(i)] The liquid or gaseous fuel and steam or hot air supplies to burners such as described in Specification 602,127 arranged at opposite ends of a melting furnace 1 are controlled by disc valves 16, 17, 12, 13 operated simultaneously by arms 24 and links or levers 25 so that the burners at each end are used alternately. The fuel supply pipes 14, 5, 7 are also fitted with a manual control valve 9 and with metering valves 28, 29 and may be lagged with the steam supply pipes 20, 4, 6 to conserve heat. Means may be provided for allowing the burners at both ends of the furnace to be used simultaneously when required.
