760,273. Heat-accumulator gas-heating furnaces. HOLMBERG, T. F. May 27, 1954 [May 13, 1954], No. 15672/54. Class 64(1) In a gas heater in which two heat-accumulator chambers 1, 2, or groups of such chambers, are used one at a time to heat the gas, e.g. chlorine-containing gas, while the other chamber or group of chambers is being heated, more gas than is needed at the place of consumption is supplied to and heated in one chamber 1 or group of chambers, and the surplus flows through a pipe 12 to the other chamber 2 or group of chambers and helps to heat it or them. Thus reversing valves are not needed in the heated gas outlets of the chambers 1, 2, where they are liable to corrosion. Valves 4, 5 and 8, 9 control the supply of combustion gas and air to the chamber being heated, and a reversing valve 14 connects the supply pipe 13 of the gas to be heated to one heat-accumulator chamber, and the other chamber to the flue pipe 15.
