Abstract

270,786. Keith & Blackman Co., Ltd., J., and Keith, G. Feb. 5, 1926. Atmospheric gas burners; valves, arrangements and applications of.-In means for controlling a group of burners, particularly for bread or biscuit ovens, the pressure, in one of two separate conduits supplying gas and air respectively is controlled by a governor, preferably of the type described in Specification 16711/15, which is variably loaded automatically by two factors constituting functions of the variable pressures of the gas and air acting on one side of the movable member of the governor so as to maintain desired proportions of the supplies of gas and air, provision being made for manual variation of one of the factors in order to vary the proportions to be maintained. In one form, injectors C, F, each supplying one or more burners D, are connected with common supply pipes A, B and the governor E communicates through a pipe G and a small hole N with one of the injectors F and through a pipe 0, provided with a valve P, with a burner D. The pipe 0 may have an extension Q projecting into the injector F. In a second form, the pipe 0 is dispensed with and a valve-controlled pipe connects the pipe G with the supply pipe A. In a third form, the pipe G is connected to the supply pipe B instead of to the injector F and has a valve-controlled branch communicating with the pipe A. The pressure in the pipe A is controlled by a manually-operable valve H or by a thermostat J.
